You might have already noticed that at LALA, we care more about your care for fostering positive impact in your community than your grades, resumé, or test scores. We believe that each one of our community members is much more than a score, and that how you performed on one or a collection of assessments does not determine your value as a human being or your potential as a leader. Our programs focus so much on public narrative and storytelling because we believe in the immense power of stories, and while test scores may be part of your narrative, they do not tell the whole story!

This payment of $3,000 USD will cover all tuition plus housing and food expenses in Medellín (excluding flights, visas, vaccines, health insurance and other pre- or post-travel expenses).
Students who participate in full in the virtual Pre-Academy-Leadership Fellowship, from September 2020-August 2021, will receive a scholarship of $3,000 USD toward their Academy fee. Additionally, the virtual Pre-Academy Leadership Fellowship includes a detailed, team-focused fundraising plan and the opportunity to apply to additional merit-based scholarships. We know that $6,000 USD might look intimidating, but we are determined to approach the program costs as a team, attacking this challenge with a community-focused mindset so that the burden does not fall on students or their families alone.
After accepted in the program you will be assign a Fundraising Mentor from the LALA Staff who will support you to raise the money you need to attend the program. LALA is a small non-profit organization, and just as you may need to fundraise to attend, the organization needs to fundraise to function. So, while funds are limited all-around, we are determined to work with you to find financial support for members of our community who need it most.
