Location

Medellín, Colombia

This is an immersive professional development opportunity for educational leaders that will share best-practice strategies for navigating the increasing demands for school-wide SEL, leadership, and social impact development. Our workshop is designed to equip educational leaders with a toolkit to initiate these strategies in a realistic and lasting way in every educational context. Participation is designed to inspire and to provide the skills to explore, define, and implement your own leadership journeys, in addition to your students’.

Our reflective approach places emphasis on self-discovery and is grounded in: Expeditionary Learning, Educational Psychology, Social Entrepreneurship, Community Organizing, and Leadership Studies, using strategies from design thinking, systems thinking, and social and emotional learning.

Who Are We?

We are a group of dedicated educators and student life advisors who are looking to build a generative community of action across Latin America. We hope to unite the missions of high schools, universities, and the future of jobs to embrace the shared responsibility of social impact.  And we want to start the region-wide conversation of how we are building our schools and leveraging our professional roles to create positive impact for our collective futures.

These visionary processes have a powerful track record. Together we will unpack how they can guide students and educators to more meaningful solutions and better future planning. Shared stories can lead growth and create opportunities for success and development.

Academic excellence can lead to environments over-focused on grades, test scores, and performance. We will explore research-based programs and strategies that counterbalance the ills of “high-achievement” by promoting student well-being and engagement.

“Getting into university” and “what are you going to do with your life?” are conversations that have been kept too far apart for too long. Our workshop will help counselors reunite these concepts in student guidance conversations and actions.
